Finding Products To Sell

There are two ways in which you can find other people's products and sell them to make money.

1. Public domain products

Did you know that any and every book published before 1923 now lies in the public domain? And did you further know that there are tens of thousands more books published from 1923 to 1978 whose copyrights have expired and now they too lie in the public domain? You could simply reprint the book and start selling it yourself!

It is very easy to make money with public domain books. And some of them are "evergreen" - i.e. - their value never dies. Some evergreen topics are motivational books, cooking recipes, natural remedies etc etc. The problem with making money with public domain products are two:

  1. How to find high quality books and products that lie in public domain?
  2. How to be 100% sure that a book does lie in the public domain?

The solution to the 2nd problem is easy. You could take a crash course in public domain products. Here is a low cost course by Yanik Silver - some one who has personally made a small fortune with public domain books himself - that gives you all the details and a few case studies that will teach you everything about public domain: Public Domain Riches

The solution to the first problem isn't hard either. Here are a few sources that can get you started right away:

  • Gutenberg - has the most amount of public domain books converted into ebook format. And more are added every month. Best of all, its all free for you to use.

  • Duke University's Rare Books & Manuscripts Library - all of them published before 1923 and lie under public domain.

  • FirstGov - most government information lies in the public domain. You can search for a lot of public domain information from this Government portal

  • Public Domain Central - an entire membership site full of people making money with public domain books and DVDs - shares a lot of resources (on public domain art, music, books, softwares and more) and provides a lot of helpful tips.

  • The Lost Files - You can pay a low monthly fee on this site and in return, you'll receive three public domain products every month - formated in text format and with their own sales letters too.

2. Resale rights (or private label rights)

Many websites today sell resale rights or private label rights to their products. They invest the time and money to create an information product and you can buy the rights to resell these products for them.

The good thing about this is: you'll find a lot of websites that sell resale rights to products. You'll save a lot of time.

The bad thing is: you'll be faced with intense competition. People won't sell resale rights to their products to you alone. They'll sell them to 1,500 other people too.

Not all the products you'll find in the market are high quality. You can't have quality control over products you've not created. But here are a few sites that do maintain good quality control of their books and products:

  • Private rights - Provides two new private label (which means you can use your own name as the author) books every month along with their salesletters. Starts you off with some bonus private label books too.

  • Private Label Books - Three books with private label resale rights per month with sales letters

  • Niche Products Monthly - 3 private label reports and salesletters that you can resell under your own name every month. Also has a bunch of articles and other material.

  • Self Improvement Millionaire - Two Self Improvement reports every month with sales letters

  • Niche Health Products - provides two health books and reports with salesletters per month. Reports written by a nurse rather than freelance writers.

  • Push Button Health - Gives resale rights to two health related books or reports with their salesletters every month

  • Push button publishing - Gives resale rights to any two reports with salesletters every month (comes with a few other goodies too)

  • Infogoround - Private label articles as well as products that you can resell (two products a month - one of them being from public domain)

Resell Audio Books

Here are two websites that will give you audio books that you can resell if you pay for their monthly membership:

Whew! Those are a lot of options. If you subscribe to all of these membership sites, you'll soon create a whole library of products you can resell. But you won't have time to sell them effectively. So the best idea still is to figure out your hot market first. And then go through all these above sites and subscribe to the one which provides products you can sell to your hot market.

The first thing to do after you have your information product is to buy a domain name...
