Say No To Search Engine Optimization
Traffic generated from search engines is a free way of promoting websites! So why don't I talk about search engine optimization?
Because search engine optimization is a game you cannot win. Formulas that search engines use to rank websites change every so often without prior warning. If you try to spend time in search engine optimization, you'll be doing that full time!
So I never do any kind of search engine optimization and create meta tags. I just pay attention to a few key things:
- Buy a good domain name
- Give clear names with keywords to all pages
- Give a good keyword rich title to all pages
- Write good content
Thats it. I focus on these 4 things and search engines automatically start crawling my site and sending people my way after a few days.
Another thing search engines look for is to see how many other sites are linking to you. I do focus on getting links back to my website from other sites. But not because of search engines. But because people could come from these websites to my site. I don't try to get link backs from crappy sites or link farms. They are, in my humble opinion, not worth the hype or the time.
- You could start a blog and get other blogs to link back to you
- You could also hire Linking Team to find websites that would link back to yours
